BIO
Hi, I’m Louise Pinder, ever since I was little I remember wanting to be a teacher. I’m passionate about education and helping all children achieve their full potential.I have had a number of jobs in education. I completed a psychology degree in 2004 and began my career in an integrated unit within a secondary school. I worked within the inclusion team, setting work and supporting children, who weren’t able to be in the class for lots of different reasons - from medical to behavioural.
I then went on to become a cover supervisor in a primary setting. Here I developed my teaching skills further, taking whole classes in teacher absences. From there in 2009, I completed my PGCE in primary education and worked as a class teacher in primary schools. After having my second child, I began tutoring. I loved the job so much, I decided to focus solely on tutoring, I found myself an office space in 2017 and began working with children 1-1 and in small groups. I am now entering into my 9th year of tutoring. It’s so rewarding! Especially when the parent feedback is about how the class teacher has seen the difference in the child’s ability & confidence grow! In the day I work for FACES @sheffield city council. I teach adults GCSE equivalents in English & Maths. I also visit schools, teaching parents about the curriculum. We look at how you can integrate it into every day activities, to further support children in their educational journey at home.
I have a special interest in dyslexia as it runs in my family & I’ve helped several of my Tutee’s get diagnosed, after spotting key signs. I have lots of children that come to me, who end up with diagnosis of memory retention too. My job is to teach at their level, rather than their year group specific criteria. I assess each child, when they arrive and then complete a tailored plan to suit their individual need. This is where we begin to plug gaps in their learning and increase their confidence. The feedback from parents is that the children enjoy coming. Once they are on track, I inform parents. Many continue to attend because they benefit from the extra support. The children see this too.
If you are interested in a free assessment session, to see how your child could benefit, then please get in touch.
TESTIMONIALS
We were lucky to have Lousie trail a maths intervention at our school. It was great to see the positive impact that both the intervention and Lousie had on our children. The children not only improved their understand of core mathematical methods, but also an increased confidence in the subject, through the enjoyable sessions taught by Louise. Throughout the intervention, Lousie was professional, friendly and shared ongoing assessments with the school to monitor progress.

Louise has worked via an agency at Meadowhead for over half a year working for 2 days per week. During this time she has been reliable (1 absence) and flexible when dates have been altered or in terms of changing rooms due to various events around school. During small group intervention students have worked well and have developed their maths skills. The average gain for students is greater than that for similar students, one or two have made 4 levels progress with an average of over 2 sub levels. Louise provided bespoke feedback for each student and my view is that they are in a better place to move forward with their maths due to her work. From my knowledge there is every reason to consider employing Louise in a professional or educational capacity.

I highly recommend Louise Pinder! Her assessment was extremely thorough. She knew exactly what to work on with Nancy. Nancy hated maths but loved going to Louise, she has a fantastic approach with kids. Nancy is now confident with maths and I am hugely grateful for the work that Louise did with her. I can’t recommend her enough!

Can’t recommend enough - the help and support has been second to none especially during lockdown. Louise is an excellent and highly skilled tutor who has built an excellent rapport with my children and who is extremely competitively priced

I really enjoyed being tutored by Louise. I am in year 6 now and I feel confident to move into high school.
Oliver Grayson, pupil at Mosborough Primary School
Really can't recommend Louise highly enough - our son has come on so quickly while working with her, and even just an hour a week for a couple of months has already had a massive impact on his work and his self-confidence. 5 stars!
